Hire of Burnside Rugby Clubrooms

We have great flexible spaces here at Burnside Rugby Club which can be adjusted to suit your function.  We welcome hires from both Club members and non-members.

ALL club members and their families are able to hire the Milner Lounge for their function at a discounted rate.

The Ivan Milner Lounge

​The Milner Lounge is our most popular venue for weddings, special birthdays and conferences.

Facilities:• 150 guests Theatre Style, Meeting• 140 guests for Weddings• 140 guests for 21st and other Birthdays• All new (dimmable) LED lighting in 2014• Large pull-down screen and projector• Sound system compatible with ipod/laptop• Good size dance floor• Full bar facilities available• Bring in your own caterer/food• 3 mins to Chch International Airport• 6 hotels/motels within 1km.

All functions require 1 months notice to arrange a special license from Christchurch City Council.  This is an additional charge to the hire fees.

Charges:

  • $450+GST (incl 2 x bar staff) night function <100 guests
  • Additional staff member cost = $75 + GST per staff member (Required for guests over 100)
  • Weddings $650+GST base fee (incl 2 x bar staff)   
  • $250+GST non-refundable deposit on all bookings
  • Special Licence $95 incl GST <100 guests, $240 incl GST >200 guests
  • Tablecloth hire as required
  • Security (if required) for 21st parties at approx $35/hr + GST

The Spriggs Bar & Café

The Spriggs Bar & Café is ideal for holding your after work function/drinks.  It opens out onto Burnside Park and there is plenty of parking available.

Facilities:

  • 40-50 guests Bar Style
  • 12 people Conference Style 
  • Drop-down screen and projector
  • 42” TV can connect to laptop
  • Whiteboard and pens available
  • Full bar facilities available
  • Bring in your own caterer/food

Charges:

  • $125+GST full day conference hire
  • $75+GST half day conference hire
  • $400+GST evening function hire, inc 2 x bar staff.  Licence fee additional.

The Len Hanser Room

The Hanser Room is ideal for business meetings, training sessions and presentations.

Facilities:

  • 40 people Meeting/Theatre Style
  • 12 people Meeting/Conference Style 
  • Own external entrance to this room
  • Large drop-down screen and projector
  • Whiteboard and pens available
  • Breakaway room for meals
  • Tea/Coffee available
  • 3 mins to Chch International Airport
  • 6 hotels/motels within 1km

Charges:

  • $145+GST full day hire
  • $90+GST half day hire
  • $175+GST full day hire for both Hanser and Spriggs
